Ricky Soos
Anatomy Educator • Biomechanics & Performance Specialist
BSC Sports Science (Loughborough University) | CSCS | LMT | Doctoral Candidate in Physiotherapy
With more than two decades of experience in sports performance, coaching, and human movement, Ricky brings a wealth of expertise to the study and application of anatomy.
A former elite middle-distance runner, he competed in the 800 meters at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games while earning his degree in Sports and Exercise Science from Loughborough University, one of the world's leading institutions for sport and exercise science.
Following his athletic career, Ricky transitioned into high-performance coaching, guiding numerous athletes to international success, including two Olympic Games appearances. Most notably, he coached his wife, Lisa Dobriskey, Co-Founder of Arizona Pilates Studio, to a fifth-place finish in the 1500 meters at the 2012 London Olympic Games.
Ricky's expertise extends beyond coaching. He has served as a Manual Therapist and Strength & Conditioning Coach for elite athletes, including the Canadian Olympic Triathlon Team at the Tokyo Olympic Games. His passion for understanding human movement and helping others perform at their highest potential ultimately led him to pursue advanced clinical training. Ricky is currently completing his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree, further expanding his knowledge of anatomy, biomechanics, rehabilitation, and human performance.
Combining experience as an Olympian, coach, therapist, and educator, Ricky brings a unique and practical perspective to anatomy that bridges elite performance, injury prevention, and movement education.
Lisa Dobriskey
Olympian • Pilates Educator • Performance Specialist
Double Olympian & World Championship medalist | NPCP Certified | PCES + Pelvic Pro Certified
Co-owner and Co-founder of Arizona Pilates Studio, Lisa Dobriskey is a highly respected movement educator, certified Pilates instructor, and former Olympic athlete with over a decade of experience in performance, rehabilitation, and instructor development. A decorated middle-distance runner originally from the UK, Lisa represented her country on the world stage—earning medals at the World Championships, Commonwealth Games, and competing in the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games. Like many elite athletes, her career was shaped not only by success, but by injury. It was during her rehabilitation that Lisa was introduced to the Pilates Reformer, a method that proved essential in her recovery and long-term performance.
After retiring from competitive sport, Lisa completed multiple comprehensive Pilates certifications, laying the foundation for a new chapter as a movement professional. Her unique combination of athletic experience, anatomical knowledge, and biomechanics expertise quickly positioned her as a trusted instructor in high-level studios and among aspiring Pilates professionals.
Lisa has since trained and mentored dozens of emerging instructors, known for her ability to bridge rigorous technical standards with real-world teaching applications. Her leadership in teacher training programs reflects a deep commitment to raising the bar within the Pilates industry.
Following the birth of her son in 2021, Lisa expanded her scope to include pre- and postnatal corrective exercise, becoming certified to better support women through pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and beyond. Today, Lisa is recognized not only for her Olympic-level discipline and insight, but for her dedication to helping every client—and every instructor—move with strength, purpose, and longevity.
